Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I’m fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley; a local charity with a big ambition – to make sure nobody faces death and loss alone.
Four years ago I shave my head for Macmillian... I wasn't ready, I said I would never do it again and with that in mind, it gives you an idea about how passionate I am to help raise money for the hospice (because, honestly, I hated it)!
This year my father Trevor Sheppard was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. It was inoperable but he was offered palliative chemo which he accepted. Luckily for Trevor, it was only the last few days that he really needed the support of the hospice, the community nurses are simply wonderful and the care within the hospice (and letting us in with Ana) helped make the last couple of days as easy as they could be.
Trevor died just after 0100 on the 14th of November 2021 with Noelle his wife, Alexander (his son), myself and Ana the puppy with him at St Catherine's Hospice. Their care, before, during and after was spot on.
I've set a high target for this time around, especially for the last few years we've had, I am hoping you have all saved some money by not getting out as much as usual and I would really appreciate all the support you can give me, shares count too!
We managed £1800 last time and I would be eternally grateful if we could get to £2000 this time (and honestly... never again, this is your last opportunity to see me looking like Kryton with my forceps baby shaped head)!
The hospice relies on donations to offer pioneering end of life care and support to people in Sussex and East Surrey. Any donation you can give will mean a lot to me and make a direct difference to families facing terminal illness. St Catherine’s has never needed our support more. Together, let’s make sure the hospice can continue to provide vital
