Story
Recently inspired to take better care of my health, I decided to set myself a health and fitness goal. Although not a natural runner, but as someone who likes to challenge myself, I signed up to join the Reigate half marathon on 17th September. I did some research and worked out a training schedule for myself and have slowly but surely made improvements over the past few weeks. I have just about met all of the objectives that I set for myself and this week achieved my 8 mile target. I currently have a small team of supporters (husband Paul, son Jack and sister Sue), who to date, have been there encouraging me to keep going, now I am ready to ask for more supporters to help me by contributing and fundraising for the charity I work for - The Royal Association for Deaf people (RAD).
I have been working for RAD for over 18 years even though I have gained lots of knowledge and experience over that time, I still continue to learn new things! I grew up with Deaf family members, one of whom was my grandmother, who although a profoundly Deaf sign language user, liked to feel the musical beat of Boney M - so in her memory I have included one of their songs in my jogging playlist, it makes me smile and helps to keep me going! Here's hoping that you will donate some monies to RAD to help keep that motivation going too.
