Story
I know breathing matters because several years ago my much loved Aunt Eileen was diagnosed with the life-limiting degenerative lung disease pulmonary fibrosis. It was a devastating diagnosis but in the aftermath I knew that my Aunt was getting the best medical care available because I could ask my Aunt Jo, who is a consultant and research scientist at University College London and who co-founded the charity, Breathing Matters.
As described on their website, Breathing Matters exclusively funds research into pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis and pneumonia – all of which are currently under-funded in the UK – and they aim to raise awareness of these diseases. Their research centre, UCL Respiratory, is one of the world’s leading research centres for respiratory diseases. The centre promotes and conducts medical research into the prevention, treatment and cure of respiratory diseases. I want to raise as much money as possible for Breathing Matters so other people can get the information they need and so that the treatment of these diseases can be improved.
I am giving a Charity Recital on the 23rd July 2017 and hope you can come and support Breathing Matters there. If not, I would be very grateful if you could make a donation via this JustGiving page. Thank you so much for visiting this page.
