Games Radar's Nathan Irvine and I are going to cycle from gamescom in Cologne, Germany to the NCsoft offices at Mocatta House in Brighton, England. It's just over 350 miles, (550+km) and I'm aiming to do it in 3 days.
I bought my bicycle last Sunday which gives me at least four weekends during which to train, Nathan agreed to come with me this week so he's got three. Chris Hoy, the British Olympic cycling champ to be rekons you can ride up to 8 hours a day if you're in top physical form, which after 5 days at the gamesindusty's biggest trade show we fully intend to be.
To be honest three days is hard enough for the most well practiced cyclists for Nathan and I it's going to be almost impossible but it's all in an amazingly good cause.
Games Aid is the British videogames industry charity, it supports many fantastic youth charities and helps kids who can't play games too good play games better in the process.
We're covering our costs so every penny will go to the charity. We'll be tapping you up for cash individually and are also looking for a couple of corporate sponsors too so please give generously.
Right, best get on the bike...
