We have organised a charity walk or run in aid of Sunderland Mind which is a mental health charity that runs within the local Sunderland Area.
The Covid 19 Pandemic has had a profound effect on people' mental health. Support with Mental Health needs to be front and centre right now and as part of the recovery.
We at the Sunderland Student Law Clinic wanted to do something positive for a local mental health charity Sunderland Mind at this time as well as encouraging our staff and students to get fit and stay well.
Walking and running is positive both physically but also good for your mind. It helps release endorphins promoting happy hormones. Further, it helps you sleep better and gain increased energy levels.
The challenge will begin on the 15th March and run until the 5th April 2021. The minimum amount of miles that are required is 20 over the month period, however the person who manages to complete the most miles will be noticed!!
All participants have been asked to contribute to the charitable cause as well as asking for donations elsewhere.
