The conflict in Syria has resulted in a severe and worsening emergency.
More than 1.6 million refugees have now fled violence in Syria and are in desperate need of shelter, food and water. Oxfam is aiming to reach 650,000 people in the coming months and is calling for the urgent peace talks world leaders have promised without further delay. details of the help
Oxfam's providing to Syrian refugees can be found on their website
www.Oxfam.org.uk
Donations to Oxfam will go 100% to the appeal, ie. not to general
funds which contributes to my salary!
It's been my ambition to do the GNR since moving to Newcastle in 1989,
I'm not sure why I left it so long as it would've been easier when I
was younger! But I've been training hard for 2 years now, so although
I won't be breaking any records I should make it round even if I walk
part of the way. The only thing I'll struggle with is if it's very
hot, so please pray for rain - a cool day with intermittent light
drizzle would be perfect!
Many thanks in advance for your support for Oxfam
