Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The ME Association is a charity very close to my heart. My best friend suffers from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis; a severe neurological illness that can completely take over a person's life. The smallest exertion can leave a sufferer with days or even weeks of unbearable fatigue, muscle pain, 'brain fog', and other painful neurological symptoms.
This disease is widely misunderstood and very under researched. There are so many people suffering in silence, unable to get a proper diagnosis or left without any support from their doctors.
I am running the Bupa London 10k in order to raise some money to help contribute to the promotion of research in this area of medicine. The ME Association is a great charity that not only helps promote research into the disease, but really supports those suffering from ME and their families. I also hope that through fundraising for the charity I can help get more recognition for ME and the ME Association.
I really, really appreciate any donation big or small. I also hope that anyone reading this will go away and read up on the illness a little, as it is really important to me to help more people understand what ME really is, as many people suffering from ME also lose the support from friends who have no idea about the illness.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
