UPDATES
July 2010 First fundraising event completed with the wonderful Mary Currie-Smith at Begbies Traynor in Cambridge inviting me to supply cakes to her world famous 'Cambridge Cake Club'. A huge thanks to all the ladies who attended - see you all again on 25th August!
October 2010 - My word I've been busy!! Since my first update I've been baking cakes until they come out of my ears!!!
I've just completed my 3rd Cambridge Cake club and am booked in for a 4th in 6 weeks time.
I've also taken part in the Raveningham country fair back in August where I made 450+ cakes and raised £300 which is to be doubled by matchgiving by my Husbands employer.
Aswell as this I've made several cakes for "cake trollies" to be sold at the workplaces of friends and family Raising another £100. Off the back of the cake trolly I did for my sisters workplace I also got a £250 donation from one of my old PE teachers!!
13th November: More Cakes!!!!! I've just finished icing and decorating 80 christmas cakes to sell at christmas fayres next weekend. Aswell as christmas biscuits, brownies, cupcakes etc. Hard work but good fun and the kids are enjoying mummy's cakes too!!!
All in all I'm chipping away at my total.

Funds raised by Women for Women will support women scientists and clinicians - empowering more women to lead in this field. They will specialise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions, which cause cancer, miscarriage, genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis or muscular dystrophy, stillbirth, polycystic ovary syndrome, pre-eclampsia, infertility, obstetric cholestasis and brain damage. Their fundamental aim is to improve women's ongoing good health throughout their lives and to ensure that more women have a normal pregnancy with a healthy baby.
The event I am taking part in is some way off but my participation requires a significant fundraising effort and so I will be undertaking a number of fundraising activities prior to the round of donations and sponsorships that you would normally expect to see closer to the event date.
Any support you can give will me much appreciated!
