Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My son, Cooper, has ASD. Although we pretty much knew it, there was still a feeling of anxiety when we got confirmation of the diagnosis. However, what contributed more to that sense of panic was the feeling of being cast adrift, and left to our own devices. It feels like you get the diagnosis and are sent on your way to do your own research and get on with it.
The one thing you do get is a website to visit if you wish.
And the website is that of The National Autistic Society. A charitable organisation who do amazing work supporting adults and children with ASD as well as their families and carers. So it may have seemed like we were sent on our way with no map, but actually we were given access to a gem of an organisation that is fantastic for active help as well as heaps of brilliant information.
So I'd like to do something useful to support them, as I know they will be invaluable to us as Coop gets older.
