Story
Sat 4th Sept
All going well, in spite of rather sore toes. Stages relatively short yesterday and tomorrow, so with any luck they should reach Patterdale without the weather breaking. Good company en route and at evening meals.

Made it! Alison and I arrived at Robin Hood's Bay on Wed 15th fit and well, buoyed up by a couple of weeks of fantastic walking. It was a marvellous thing to do, progressing through glorious English countryside, meeting people from all over the country and the world. We were incredibly lucky with the weather - experiencing only three and a half days of rain out of the fourteen days - many days we walked in T-shirts. It was lovely to meet up with some of the family on the Reeth to Richmond leg of the journey, and with two friends at Carlton Bank. Paul provided tremendous backup for the last five days, camping along the route, ferrying family to and from pick-up points and stations, and driving Alison and me to pubs for meals in the evenings.
Thank you all for your support. It was nice to know that people were thinking of us as we walked, and had given so generously to our chosen charities. We are still not sure of the final total - people are still giving - but we'll let you know as soon as the final reckoning has been made. At the moment it seems to be approaching £1400, which is super.
Best wishes,
Caroline.
