Story

Dear Everyone,

This Friday 14 March I'm off to climb the highest mountain in Indochina to raise funds for  the Fairbridge Programme.  It operates to places close to my heart such as Kennington, Edinburgh and Middlesbrough providing help for 13 to 25 year olds who struggle with education and/or home life.  All the costs of the trip/admin are covered by me, and your donations are ring fenced entirely for the charity.

Training has been a sobering series of lessons in the various types of rain and its ability to foil any attempt at wearing the right clothing.  I've watched a hail storm come out of nowhere and chase me across the Ridgeway, and got lost in Suffolk in a deluge.  I've discovered the magnificent Devil's Dyke with Dad, who tested his new hip out in 60mph winds, and with some of the WLD team found Leith Hill on one of the sunniest days of winter.  Those who have joined me have made it incredibly enjoyable, so a huge thank you.

Thanks equally to all those who have sponsored me.  It is a great feeling to have reached the sponsorship target 36 hours ahead of departure.  You know who you are, and I am so grateful...

Much Love,

Caroline
