Story

Homelessness doesn't just occur when it's cold. It's every day all through the year. Homelessness isn't just about the cold. It's about not having somewhere to call home.

We are taking part in Transform's 'Sleep Out at Home' and will spend one night sleeping outside in our garden, just a door's width from our home, our beds, sofa, fridge, TV, bath.

Anyone's life can, through a set of unfortunate circumstances, be a short distance away from it too. For many vulnerable people it's a very thin line between having a home or not.

We are not trying to replicate homelessness but instead give a very small insight into what it's like without the comforts of home and to sleep out overnight - whatever the weather.

All money raised enables Transform to provide care and support to vulnerable people across Surrey to help prevent homelessness.

Transform really does change lives - you can see a short video of how they do this here > Transforming lives

Transform‘s mission is to provide housing and support for homeless, vulnerable and excluded people. They empower people to reach their goals and live independent and fulfilling lives. They provide housing and one-to-one support to more than 1,200 people each year across Surrey, Sutton and Wokingham, to help them address the issues they are facing. They give people a second chance in life…To find out more, have a look at their website www.transformhousing.org.uk .
