Sadly I was not able to complete the Great South Run.  Frustratingly I developed an ankle injury on my final training run last Tuesday.  I was hoping it would be OK for the run but no!!!  

Chris, however, is still fit and he completed the run in 1 hour 14.  I am very proud of him and ask you all who have sponsored me if you will consider still giving your sponsorship money to Debra as Chris did complete the run.  

I am so sad I did not manage to take part in the running but I was with the other Debra supporters cheering on the runners who did so well. 

Our friends are blessed with 3 beautiful children, Grace, Freddie and Joan.  Grace and Freddie live with the genetic skin condition EB which gives them sores, blisters and discomfort.  They and their parents are an inspiration to me and it is for them and others who live with this condition that I have decided to dust down my running shoes and take part in the Great South Run.  Quite how I will manage 10 miles I don't know but I know but any discomfort I suffer from running it will eventually heal.
