Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be walking 10K around Windsor on 6th October 2013 in memory of my brave little boy Max who died of a malignant Ependymoma brain tumour on 28th September 2012 in GOSH, he was only 2 1/4 years old.
Sadly Max's tumour was not diagnosed until it was too late, even though it was large and visible on a CT scan on 23rd August 2012. Delays in his diagnosis had a catastrophic effect leading to his death.
Brain tumours are the biggest childhood cancer killer. Currently 1 child dies every 3 days of a brain tumour.
Research offers the only real hope of dramatic improvements in the diagnosis, treatment and management of brain tumours. Over £500 million is spent on cancer research in the UK every year, yet less than 2% is spent on brain tumours.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the UK's leading brain tumour charity and largest dedicated funder of brain tumour research, they are commited to changing these statistics to improve life chances for people diagnosed with brain tumours, now and in the future.
