We fund medical research to treat Secondary Breast Cancer

Story

On Sunday May 22nd, Carol Marsh will be riding the world’s fastest zip line in memory of her daughter, Nic. Reaching speeds in excess of 100mph, we intend to make her the world’s fastest octogenarian, albeit briefly! She’ll be joined on the zip line by Nolan and Ian.  We hope to raise as much money as possible for Secondary1st, a charity that meant a lot to Nic.

Metastatic breast cancer currently kills an average of 31 people every single day in the UK, and yet so little is known, or done, about it. Almost all funding and research is aimed at the very curable primary breast cancer. Metastatic breast cancer remains a terminal illness, with a 100% mortality rate. Nic felt very strongly that this imbalance in knowledge and funding is wrong, and that we should try to raise as much money and awareness as we possibly can. We are asking anyone who can help in any way, no matter how small, to please consider donating in her memory, and hopefully one day, we’ll be able to put secondary first.

We put Secondary Breast Cancer first. Because there is no cure yet. This disease spreads to the rest of the body and affects women and men. So finding a cure means a diagnosis is no longer an ultimatum. People will have more days doing what matters most, living the life they love.
