Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This may sound unbelievable but I will be running the BRIGHTON MARATHON 2014!!

My lovely Dad was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in Jan last year. This is a horrible disease which takes away the person you love and leaves behind a shell that looks like someone you once knew.

Dad was rushed into Great Western Hospital having become very confused and unsteady on his feet. The staff were amazing looking after Dad and supporting Mum, Sheona , Rob and I. After 12 long dark weeks of tests and a pacemaker ( just to add to our worry) the team in the Victoria Center put Dad on medication which brought him back to us. This felt like a miracle .

Dad is now at home and doing amazingly well. He is enjoying his garden and doing all the things him and Mum love.

I didn't know there was treatment for dementia , it has given us all Dad back for now and we can't thank everyone at the hospital enough. By donating you will help the research teams into finding a cure for dementia .

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
