Carols Kili Challenge · 4 February 2017

MS-UK is here to support anyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), which affects over 150,000 people in the UK. We empower people with MS to live healthier and happier lives by improving the understanding of the condition and providing support where it is needed most.

Story

In 2011 Kilimanjaro proved to be my nemesis.......thwarting my attempts to reach the summit due to a blizzard. I always vowed I'd go back, and so Feb 4th 2017 sees me start up its slopes again, egged on by my friend / tormentor (see attached photo) / adopted brother Ian Fletcher!!

Ian suffers from MS, having been diagnosed 10 years ago. Twice a week he goes to Joseph's Court, an MS-UK Centre of Excellence. The centre offers a range of activities in a purpose-built Wellness Studio, where every piece of equipment is designed to create strength and muscle tone and improve general fitness.

The Joseph's Court team help Ian to think positively about the future, as well as "gently" encouraging him to get on his therabike and pedal!! The centre does an amazing job at empowering those with MS and other neurological conditions to continue to be the people they were pre-diagnosis.

I am therefore going to be fundraising for Joseph's Court and Ian......so he can sit and drink tea while I try and get my butt up a mountain.....nothing changes!! Please support us if you can :)
