Story
Hi friends! Thank you so much for checking out my fundraising page.
As many of you know I have been living with type 1 diabetes for many years. 2021 is my 19th anniversary of having diabetes, but it is also insulin’s 100th anniversary of being discovered. 100 years ago, diabetes was a death sentence. The only remedy was to withhold food from children until they eventually died of starvation or DKA. Now, so much has changed and improved. We have insulin, diabetes technology, and better knowledge of this disease. However, what we don’t have is access to insulin for all. In the year 2021, many people can not afford their insulin to survive, and many other people do not even have the option to buy insulin in their country. In our own country, 1 out of 4 people with diabetes have withheld insulin due to cost. So this year I am asking that you donate to T1international in order to help make insulin accessible to every person with diabetes. They have many programs and educational materials on their website that you can check out, but most importantly is #insulin4all.
You can read more about what T1international is doing here: https://www.t1international.com/insulin4all/
Make sure to also sign the US Type 1 Diabetes Access Charter!: https://www.t1international.com/sign-charter/
I will be raising money for T1international all throughout the month of June. My goal is $1900, 100 dollars for every year I’ve lived with T1D.
