Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. In July 2007 I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. If undiagnosed or ignored, diabetes can lead to blindness, poor healing of wounds and cardiovascular disease to name but a few. Not good. If controlled, then diabetes does not stop you leading a normal life, but I'm sure everyone with the illness would agree that a cure would be welcomed sooner rather than later.
Hence the reason for me taking part in the South Downs Trail Challenge Marathon in June, and the Great North Run Half Marathon in September! I thought why not two of the toughest races on the calendar and raise awareness of a fantastic charity at the same time.
Money raised for JDRF goes towards funding vital research that will improve the chances of finding a cure for diabetes. Hopefully with your help I can achieve my goal of raising £849 and contribute to this research. You'll not only be helping me, but also the millions of people who have diabetes.
You can also text your donation in. Simply text ORFY50 and the amount you want to donate (from £1 upwards) to 70070. If you add Gift Aid on top of your donation that would be great: it adds an extra 25% to your donation for free!
Please dig deep and let's crush this unwelcomed illness.
Thank you!
Carl.
