Story
I, along with a very close friend Cathy and 3 relay teams made up of aunties, uncles, cousins and friends are running the Belfast Marathon in memory of my niece and our very own superhero Poppy Ogle.
Poppy was the most beautiful, brave, caring little 10 year old in the world. In January 2021 she was diagnosed with a very rare sarcoma. She endured multiple surgeries, multiple rounds of very intensive chemotherapy, multiple rounds of radiotherapy and more hospital admissions than any one of us has had in a lifetime. Poppy unfortunately passed away on 26th May 2022. Our hearts were and still are completely broken.
Poppy was very well known. She was and still is our very own celebrity. Everyone that knew her, loved her. She was adored by everyone but no one more than her mum, dad, sister Maddison and brother Isaac. Poppy being the caring little lady that she was loved helping people and even when she was fighting the biggest battle anyone could face she was still thinking of others. So we feel it is now up us to carry on this amazing trait that she had and raise some money for this charity The Boom foundation.
Last year, 2 teams ran the relay marathon and Poppy was able to come and meet everyone after. She even joked that she couldn't believe we were all still alive! We raised over £4000 for Angel wishes. This year we had to go bigger and better for her. Me and Cathy are running the full 26 miles in memory of our amazing girl. And alongside us we will have 3 amazing teams, all consisting of people who loved and adored our superhero.
Thank you so much for reading and donating. We appreciate every single penny as will this amazing cause.
Lots of love Carina, Cathy and the 3 relay teams- Mark (Poppys dad) Michelle, Justine, Mucker, Jonny, Jake, Amanda, Paul, Jude, Davy, Darzo, Getty, Jack, Ashleigh and George!
