About Isobel

Isobel Birden was a loving mother, doting grandmother, agony aunt, and dear friend to many in the Cardiff Muslim convert community.  Since taking her Shahada in October 2019, Isobel faced many struggles, both personally and with her health, but her optimism, patience, and pure love for her Creator always shone through and inspired so many.

Sadly sister Isobel returned to her Lord on 26 December 2020 after a short illness.  She is survived by her two children, two grandchildren, and her devoted cat Millie.  

We, Isobel's sisters and brothers in Islam, are doing this fundraising in her name in the hopes that the meals provided will be a means of barakah for our departed sister in the next life.  Isobel loved the community and the work of Al-Ikhlas Centre and was always keen to help with fundraising for their project.

About Al-Ikhlas

Al-Ikhlas Centre is offering *free* hot Iftar meals throughout the month of Ramadan.The Centre is located in the heart of Adamsdown. Here we serve our many local residents, but we are also within walking distance of a centre housing refugees and asylum seekers. This allows us to provide them with vital services they need, and to aid them to build new futures here in Wales.
