S.M.I.L.E Counselling will be celebrating our 5th Birthday on 15th June 2020. Since we began our goal has never changed which has been to deliver free, bespoke counselling to 11-24 year olds in West Lothian. In the last 5 years we have provided 1-2-1 counselling to almost 350 young people which means over 3000 hours of counselling. In addition to this we have also provided mental health work shops, information sessions and training to over 1500 people in West Lothian. We now have 3 sites in Bathgate, Linlithgow & schools to reach as many young people as possible. As a result of Covid-19 we have adapted to provide online counselling via zoom, telephone and email counselling. We expect that there will be a large increase in referrals in the coming months & years. The funding we raise through 5mile 4 SMILE will go towards moving to a larger premsies with more confidential rooms which we can offer twice as much counselling and a tailored training room for courses to be delivered
