I have decided to raise money for W-C-R-F because I would like to raise awareness of cancer prevention. The last 4 years I have been learning the importance of healthy whole foods, being more active and getting good sleep. In that time I have lost a very good friend and more recently my mum. I found it really hard at the time reading how different foods affect your body, what food promotes a healthy immune system and what damages. I also know how hard it is to eat healthy foods and keep active when you are tired or had a stressful day.
W-C-R-F "says 40% of cancers in the uk could be prevented by a healthy diet, reducing alcohol, being physically active, and maintaining a healthy weight, it only takes small changes to your lifestyle.................. To reduce the risk of cancer for you and your family"
My goal is to raise awareness on cancer prevention through healthy eating and lifestyle. If we can reduce this risk even slightly it will be worth it!
This summer, I'm going to push myself to new limits to raise awareness with some challenging events.
My first event is to cycle the north coast 500 in just 4 days with 32000 feet of climbing starting 7th of July.
Then, once recovered, I'm going to do an ironman distance triathlon which is 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and to finish 26.2 mile marathon run and complete all within 17 hours on the 17th of September
I'm hoping family and friends will get involved and join me on a 28 day challenge where you set your own goals. It can be a step challenge, no processed food or reduce certain foods, ect,,,, make your own goal to suit you and if you can but not essential to raise a bit extra for the charity.
There is a lot of useful information on the W-C-R-F page. Feel free to have a look.
Thanks
