We work with Leicestershire's oldest people to improve wellbeing through learning
Story
We believe you're never too old to learn. Research shows learning in the later stages of life can boost confidence, give residents a more positive outlook on life and delay on the onset of dementia. L4A believes that there is a gap in provision of learning to people who live in care homes and seeks to address this gap.
Older people receive a visit each and every week to work together on shared interests from painting to family tree and computing to literature. Our volunteers range from primary school children to retired folks in their 80s.
