Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Callum's JustGiving page.

Callum was a very, very brave and considerate lad who was always anxious that his family should not worry or feel sad for him.  Crohn's Disease and Lymphoma meant that Callum's last few years were not easy, but he always had a smile, tried his best to be positive and never complained or wanted a fuss.   "I'm fine" was always his response whenever asked how he was or if he needed anything.

We all miss him terribly and, although too late for our precious Callum, we hope that one day a cure for both Crohn's Disease and Lymphoma will be found.  We feel that Callum would approve of us raising funds to help others and following his funeral over £3000 was forwarded to Crohn's in Childhood Research Assoc and The Archie Foundation.  We would also like to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and hope you will agree this is an appropriate memorial to Callum.

A Forget Me Not fund at Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research has been set up in Callum's name and donations made through Just Giving will be allocated to this fund.  Alternatively, donations can be made direct to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research quoting "Callum Tweedie's Forget Me Not Fund".

Callum was looking forward to attending his sister's wedding in May 2010, but sadly it was not to be.  His sister and her fiance decided that instead of buying traditional favours for wedding guests they would make a donation direct to  Callum's Forget Me Not fund at Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and give guests Forget Me Not pin badges.

Christmas 2011:  During 2011 over £30,000 was raised for LLR, CICRA & The Archie Foundation in memory of Callum.  Callum's family have been overwhelmed by the love, support and encouragement extended to them and send heartfelt thanks to everyone for their generosity, compassion and help.

We continue to try and be as brave as Callum was in facing each day and it is from him we gain the strength to "put on a smile" and face the world.  We hold tight to our memories of the 18 years we had Callum with us and know he will always be in our hearts.  Callum is always in our thoughts: if only we could have had him in our arms for longer.  Our precious, precious lad.
