Story
I’m running 30+ miles per week for four consecutive weeks, to and from my shifts as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher with the London Ambulance Service. I can attest to the fact that we have been under enormous pressure to care for Londoners and keep us all safe during these challenging times. Our staff and volunteers have gone above and beyond their normal work duties and have spent the last two years absorbing the terror, frustration and heartache of the pandemic on a first hand basis - and are continuing to do so. Going to run the equivalent distance of a marathon plus spare change every week - 124 miles total. Aiming to raise £124 which equates to £1 a mile. Considering that’s an average 2 hrs ‘commute’ a day on top of already long 12 hour shifts (and probably a bandy-legged limp forever afterwards) it’s not a lot to ask! So please sponsor my Outrun an Ambulance challenge. Your donations will be used to provide improved facilities and wellbeing support for crew and personnel working and volunteering at the London Ambulance Service. AKA my Green Family 💚 THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
