Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Calendar Lads JustGiving page.
The Calendar Lads community was born in 2014 when a group of frontline A&E and Ambulance staff posed naked for a calendar to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer.
Following the success of this, the Calendar Lads community introduced an annual event which has become very popular and not only increased the community to epic proportions but has widened awareness and seen donations rocket.
The Calendar Lads Community aims to include, contribute and enhance the surrounding community and we are inviting you to become part of the Calendar Lads community and Journey.
This year the team is raising money and awareness for Clarty Commandos and the Northumbria Bright Charity.
Calendar Lads throughout the years has had a focus on ‘being different but the same’ and when we were made aware of the Clarty Commandos initiative in Northumberland, we knew we had to be part of it.
Clarty Commandos is an inspirational process offering everyone the opportunity to achieve, developing confidence and self esteem through outdoor learning. Clarty Commandos are building their facilities to enable them to offer fun and independence as well as learning essential skills in the outdoors environment. As a community this is our very essence and we are excited to work with Clarty Commandos in 2019.
In 2019, the plan is to walk the Coast to Coast, walking 26 miles per day for 4 days and concluding at one of the Northumbria hospitals.
Keeping us safe and tending to our wounds will be Stephen Hodgson from Star Ambulance. Stephen and his colleagues are long supporters of the Calendar Lads and have been a vital component of the challenge walks.
We would like to welcome you to the Calendar Lads community and look forward to your support.
