Swim A Mile Laughing :-)
to beat AML
This time last year, as many of you know, my Dad, Steven, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). There is nothing like watching someone you love fight so much and for such a long time when you can do nothing.
Feeling helpless at that time was horrible, but now I want to join the battle. My Dad is now in remission and we hope that that path continues happily. One year on from his diagnosis, I am going to swim a mile for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, a charity which specifically concentrates on this type of cancer.
I've chosen to swim because, to be brutally frank, I sink like a stone!! This Saturday, February 18th, I will flop into the pool and face 64 lengths of an endurance trial. It would be wonderful to have your support.
This challenge will be a small feat compared with what my Dad went through, but it will be worth it to raise money for such a vital research charity. Please sponsor me whatever you can to ensure the fight against cancer goes on.
