We build health worker capacity to improve the lives of women and children

Story

Currently one in seven Sierra Leonean children die before their fifth birthday, mainly due to preventable and treatable diseases. Despite this, there is only one children’s hospital and one qualified paediatrician in the country’s public health system.

Since 2007, the Welbodi Partnership has been working with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and international partners to support the Ola During Children’s Hospital (ODCH) in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Through local partnership, Welbodi makes strategic and sustainable investments in this government hospital to reduce excess child mortality. Their aim is to create a centre of excellence in which best healthcare practice can be established and used as a template for paediatric care across Sierra Leone.

I'm running the Bupa London 10,000 race and trying to raise 200 pounds to support Welbodi in continuing their great work
