Story
4 years ago as a uni student I decided to donate my hair to The Little Princess Trust as a way of me giving to charity when I couldn't give as much financially as I would have liked but at the time I had no idea how much it cost for them to make a wig. Fast forward to March 2020 I planned on donating my hair again and then lockdown happened so I decided to let it grow for another year. Finally over a year later on Wednesday 30th June over 12 inches of my hair will be cut to go off to be made into a wig for a child suffering from hair loss.
As a family we know how awful it is when someone you love has to go through cancer treatments or chemo for other health reasons so I can't even imagine what that would be like for a child. My hair has always been one of my comforts, it's always been so long and I love having it long but I'd love to give that feeling to someone else.
It costs the charity on average £550 to have the wig made and then a further £150 to have it fitted. I know over the past year some people have been hit financially but any donations to this wonderful little charity would be massively appreciated.
When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever.
