Story
From the 3rd to the 6th May 2013 a group of 9 of us will be cycling from Caernarfon Castle to Cardiff Castle. That's nearly 200 miles over 4 days. In the photo: Jilly, Claire, Chris, Jim & Max. Also cycling are: Joe, Julia, Stef & Kev!
It'll be a fantastic cycle and time well spent with friends... But it's also a great way to raise money for CRY, a charity close to Jilly's heart. In November she celebrated 4 healthy years following emergency open heart surgery and a replacement mechanical heart valve, for a condition that she had no idea about.
Lots of people aren't as lucky as Jilly. CRY do fantastic work in screening the hearts of young people countrywide, preventing sudden cardiac death from conditions they usually have no prior knowledge of. If there had been more widely available screening sessions 5 years ago then Jilly may have been picked up sooner.
But they don't stop there, the charity provide a young person's network for those newly diagnosed, counselling for those who have lost a loved one, support and promote the newest research developments including providing a pathology service and have a centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions and Sports Cardiology at St George's Hospital.
We're raising money for more cardiac screening sessions in Wales, please lend us your support!
