Churches Together in Ringwood is supporting the Channel Relay and Sponsored Swim and here you can donate towards the total raised. The event is part of Christian Aid Week and churches in Ringwood are coming together to put their faith into action One way you can help is by sponsoring the swimmers attempting to swim the equivalent to the English Channel!
The local swimming club coaches Glen Baily From Christchurch Seagulls, Sam Woodward from Swim Bournemouth, Barry Alldrick from Poole swimming club and Laurie Dormer from the Littledown Masterclass have all selected a Relay team of 9 swimmers to attempt the 21 miles or 36,000 metres distance in the Littledown Pool whilst it is closed overnight. Each swimmer will go as fast as they can for 1 hour staring at 6.p.m. and finishing (hopefully) at 3 a.m. In the spare lanes Churches Together will be running a sponsored swim for whoever wants to participate between 6.p.m and 8.p.m.
