2012 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, Léogâne, Haiti · 24 November 2012

We are a unique foundation supporting socially responsible businesses, social enterprises and sustainable projects internationally.

Story

The 29th annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project returns to Haiti as part of its two-year effort to strengthen and support Habitat's work in Haiti.

Richard Vale and Michael James from COINS will be working alongside other volunteers and locals, helping to build new homes in Léogâne

A significant proportion of the funds raised by the COINS Foundation continue to be channelled to the rebuilding efforts in Haiti. The country has been ravaged by fresh natural disasters (including recently, Hurricane Sandy) since the devastating earthquake of 2010. Haiti’s problems and challenges are extensive and few would disagree that the people of this Caribbean nation are among those most deserving of aid and assistance. If perhaps you thought that Haiti was the humanitarian cause of a year or so ago, the UN and aid organisations are warning that this year’s storms have created a new, life-threatening crisis.
