Story
Thank you for visiting my just giving page.
On December 13th, 2019, I lost my wonderful wife Lesley,
best friend and an amazing mother to James our son to colon cancer at the age of only 64. When initially diagnosed she was given a year to live – Lesley was a fighter and she lived for four years thanks to the NHS, Florence Nightingale Hospice, The John Hampden School where she worked as a Teaching Assistant, her friends and family. Lesley saw our son married to beautiful and loving Katherine and a few weeks before her death she saw Theo & grandson born. Theo has a picture of Nanny Lesley holding him in his bedroom and he says good morning to her. The picture above says it all a loving grandmother, mother and wife and her outlook on life be happy and positive.
In April 2023 I took part in a sponsored walk of the final part of the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain with her brother and others to raise funds for a Hospice in her beloved Eastbourne – where Lesley grew up, St Wilfred’s Hospice. Charitable funding is essential the hospice movement, on average only 30% of their funding comes from the NHS, with the remainder needing to be raised via charitable donations, which is why your donation today is so important and greatly appreciated.
