Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 8th May 2013 I am running for the British Heart Foundation in the Tower of London run, to raise money and awareness for the charity which helps support patients with heart conditions.
I am running for the charity as their ground breaking reserach has saved lives with their advancements in research they have been able to save lives like my friends little girl who had a major heart operation at the age of two. Their mission is to play a leading role in the fight against disease of the heart and circulation, so that it is no longer a major cause of disability and premature death. The British Heart Foundation promotes healthy living by encouraging children to be more physically active. They have created Heartstart schools training packs which provides teachers with a specialised Emergency Life Support (ELS) skills package to teach children what to do in a life-threatening emergency. The charity also funds research in to heart disease £200 could fund one of our young scientists for a whole day. We currently provide the salaries for around 500 post-doctoral scientists who work in research teams right across the UK on projects to better understand how to diagnose, prevent, treat and cure heart disease.
Just to give you an idea of how your money could make a difference £2 – Helps 10 children get more physically active
£30 - Heartstart Schools training pack
£50 – Help fund vital lab work
£124 – Fund a resuscitation training manikin
For every donation the money raised will go straight to the charity and save lives through their research in to the heart.
