Story
Cycling 4 All provides opportunities for disabled students to take part in sports with non-disabled students. Based at the Students Union at the University of Bradford, the group helps disabled students make friends, improve self-esteem, improve fitness and achieve.
Between June 3rd and June 7th we will be taking five disabled cyclists on the challenge of a life time, to cycle from Morecambe to Flamborough Head, a total distance of 182 miles over 5 days.
All of the cyclists are new to cycling and are undergoing an intensive training regime to make this happen. Two cyclists are wheelchair users and will do the ride on hand cycles. The other cyclists have autism spectrum disorders and will use trikes and mountain bikes.
In addition, 10 non-disabled cyclists will take part in the ride and collectively, this group of 15 are aiming to raise £3500 and a lot of publicity between them.
The money raised will go towards keeping Cycling 4 All activities going and to expand into new areas.
This will be a challenging, yet rewarding experience for all of those involved.
