Story

On the 28th January 1846 the 16th Lancers at the Battle of Aliwal, became the only cavalry regiment to break a European trained infantry square. There role in the battle played a pivotal part in the successful outcome, against a much larger force.

175 Years on C Squadron, The Royal Lancers will be honouring our antecedent regiment. Cpl Toyne will be conducting a 16 hour continuous indoor cycle, starting at 0600 on 28th January. Then at 1846 hrs 20 Soldiers of the Squadron will run 16 Miles.

Whilst deployed in Salford in support of COVID testing and vaccination support. C Squadron will be conducting an event in support of Broughton House. A home for armed forces veterans in Salford and Greater Manchester, which has been hit hard by COVID 19.
