Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ryan suffered a stroke age just 7 years old in January 2017. Ryan's stroke was caused by an extremely rare condition called PRES (Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome). MRI scans have detected that Ryan also had a previous stroke, but they cannot detect when this was.

Although Ryan has recovered physically, he still suffers emotionally a year on. A hospital stay, endless tests & appointments, and the extreme fatigue that he suffered have all taken their toll on him.

Ryan was awarded for his courage after what he had endured by The Stroke Association at The Life After Stroke Awards in Liverpool in November 2017.

We have decided as a family to participate in the 5K Resolution Run in Blackpool on March 18th and hopefully raise some vital funds for The Stroke Association along the way.

We also hope to raise awareness of childhood stroke.
