Mayf and I are taking part in the Dawlish Triathlon on Sunday 28th September (http://www.dawlishtriathlon.co.uk) - completing a 750m sea swim, a 21km bike ride and a 5km run.
In October last year the three year old nephew of friends of ours contracted Ecoli and a disease called HUS which attacks the kidneys, stomach and brain. Henry was admitted to Bristol Children's hospital and was in a coma for six weeks. Nearly eight months later there has been some improvement and he's been moved to The Children's Trust Neuro rehab centre (http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/) where he can start some kind of rehabilitation to prepare him and his family for his return home in 6-12 months.
We cannot begin to imagine what Henry's parents Phil and Tanya are going through but their strength and resilience have inspired a team of 20+ to do the Dawlish Triathlon. No mean feat for most of us!
We hope very much that you can support us and the truly amazing work that The Children's Trust are doing for Henry and other children.
Thank you and wish us luck.
