Story
On June 27th, I'll strap on my ridiculously festooned bike helmet for a 5-day, 300-mile ride London To Paris for the Alzheimer's Society.
Bike adventures have long been a part of my life. In 1989, I pedaled across the United States -- from Virginia to California -- in 57 days.
I've biked down the California coast. Several times, I left my apartment before dawn and finished the day in Montauk.
And nearly every day of the year, I commute to work on an 18-speed Giant Rincon.
To accomplish this next feat, I DON'T need your help, but I'd like it.
I've chosen to pay all the costs of my journey out of pocket. And if I don't reach the minimum $1,500 donation, I'll simply dig into my own pocket.
However, in the spirit of this charitible event, I want to reach out to you, my friends and family, to raise money for a worthy cause.
It would be great to cycle into Paris, knowing that many of you have helped.
And let me make an offer to you that you won't get from PBS: Leave your address on my support page, and you will get a postcard from Paris.
I also promise a round of beer on me, even for the smallest donation.
Thanks for your help.
