As you may or may not have known - I was preparing to run the London Marathon last year - raising money for Maggie’s at The Royal Marden – where I work every day as Centre Head. However, just like with everything  - it was postponed due to the coronavirus!

As a charity which relies entirely on the kindness of our supporters, like many, Maggie’s has been hit hard by everything that’s going on - as so many of our events have been cancelled. However, our work as a cancer support charity has never been more vital. With anxiety rising among our visitors, our centre have been busier than ever and the team here are working tirelessly to be there for everyone living with cancer.  

This is why I have decided to up the ante this year and have set myself the challenge of running 26.2 miles in the London Marathon, cycling
100 miles through the Surrey Hills and abseiling 225 meters down the
Leadenhall building – all in the space of three weeks, whilst also trying to raise £5,000 for Maggie’s! Wish me luck! I am even considering signing up to the Maggie’s wing walking event…..!

Knowing however that all my efforts will be making a huge difference to Maggie’s and my centre is helping to drive me forward through this difficult time and to keep training! If you are able to sponsor me…little or big….just know that your support will make a HUGE difference during a time when Maggie’s really needs it. And if for any reason any of these events are once again cancelled this year -  I promise to still do them when I can!
