On 1st August 2010 we will be setting off from St Bees in Cumbria on the legendary "Wainwrights Coast to Coast Walk". We will be walking 192 miles over 13 days and finishing on the East Coast at Robin Hoods Bay on the 13th August 2010.

We are undertaking this challenging adventure to help the 100,000 disadvantaged children that Barnardo's supports across the UK. 

The reason we picked this charity above all others was the fact that Terry, my father, was a Barnados kid and they helped him become the man and father he is today and with your money we can help other kids and young adults in difficult times.

How your money will help  
Last year our Challenge Events participants raised well over £600,000.  This year, and with your help, we aim to raise even more for our vital work with children. Last year at Barnardo’s we;

·        Helped 100,000 vulnerable children in the U.K

·        Worked with 3,285 homeless young people

·        Helped 72 young fathers take cookery classes to help deal with the practicalities of being a young parent

·        Helped 779 young people who were excluded from school to become trained in a practical skill such as plumbing, to help them find employment

·        Supported 5,824 young people leaving care, while they moved into independence

·        Supported 3,487 young carers to take time off from their daily responsibilities

Your fantastic fundraising efforts will enable Barnardo’s to not only continue, but increase the work we do in the U.K each year.
