Story
I am mum to 2 gorgeous boys. The eldest, Owen has a rare syndrome called Cri du Chat Syndrome- cry of the cat. When he was born his cry was exactly that!
There are huge implications for Owens future due to his syndrome and there is not much known about it. I am absolutely dependent on a wonderful support group who provide advice via their clinical advisory group, family weekends , and knowledge and suggestions for what to do as something new crops up.
Owen is usually the first person that his doctors and health care professionals have met with CDC, so the support group provides me with real (first hand) & expert knowledge.
I am going to run the Cardiff 1/2 with slightly less training than anticipated in order to try and raise some funds for this wonderful charity and also to raise awareness of Owens syndrome and his uniqueness! I know its not a long way (by some standards...) but for me this will be the first long race for about 10 years and definitely since having the boys. If you do have any spare pennies I would be most grateful if you could click on the link and part with some cash!
Thank you all for your support!!! I will think of it as I run!!
