The recession and recent spending cuts have caused a spike in homelessness, particularly amongst young people. A report published by Homeless Link warns that immanent welfare reforms could trigger an explosion in rough-sleeping.
Organisations like St Mungo's are already desperately under-resourced to deal with the extent of the problem, and with homlessness set to rise even further the situation can only get worse.
Bristol Labour Students will be sleeping rough in Bristol city centre for 7 nights from the 1st to the 7th of March to raise vital funds for this incredibly important organisation, and also to raise general awareness of the homelessness problem in the city.
Any donations are gratefully recieved.
