Story
I am a disabled woman with Cerebral Palsy. This has affected both my legs and my right arm. Participating in physical events while trying to raise money for causes closest to my heart is at the best of times, extremely challenging and in some cases impossible.
The evolution of the digital space during Covid has opened up a whole new virtual world to me and now having the opportunity to take part in an event virtually, is both physically and mentally rewarding.
For this year’s Elephant Epic 75 Challenge I will cycle 75km in 48hrs. I will set off on the same day and time of the official event using my Motomed exercise bike. My virtual route will follow the same physical distance as the official race which starts in Lusaka and finishes in the Lower Zambezi.
Not only will this challenge test my disability and my mental resilience, but it will also be the furthest I’ve cycled in a 48hr period.
I have taken on this challenge to show my support for Game Rangers International and help raise awareness and funds for wildlife conservation in Zambia.
Your support and any funds donated will be greatly appreciated. 100% will go to GRI. Let’s help save Africa’s majestic wildlife together.
Thank you.
