Story
The thought of a child suffering in this day and age is enough to break anyone's heart. The thought of not only having to go through that, but then trying to cope with it alone, is incomprehensible and unacceptable.
That is why I am running the Brighton Marathon and raising money for the NSPCC. To help those children, to raise awareness, and to stop the suffering.
The NSPCC work tirelessly to help children who have been abused rebuild their lives, they protect those at risk and they find ways to help prevent abuse happening in the first instance.
Many children who are abused go on to suffer with mental health issues, drug and substance abuse and find it harder to cope with life stresses. I want to help those children, and break the stigma around abuse, and the mental illnesses caused by it.
I know first hand how important it is to have people beside you to support you in life; no one should ever feel alone. I believe that as long as there is abuse, every child should be protected and cared for with the love they deserve.
