Story
We are taking part in Walk Ten 2013 at Dalkeith Country Estate to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Our Beautiful Mum Shirley Orr was diaganosed with Lung Cancer in October 2010, We sadly lost Mum (54) in October 2011.
Mum spent her final days in The Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh.
The nurses here do a fantastic job, they were not only great with mum but with our whole family. Mum got to have 2 bubble baths while she was in the hospice, to some this may not seem much but to mum it was everything, mum had only been able to shower since 2010 and missed her bubble baths alot, I will never forget how happy she was those 2 mornings. Although we were in the hospice and knew things were not good we managed to have lots of laughs and keep spirits high which is just not possible in a hospital ward, Nothing was to much for the nurses they were always at hand. We will be forever grateful to them as they helped keep our beautiful mum smiling till the very end and couldn't have done more for us as a family.
Please sponsor us and help Marie Curie Nurses provide free care to more people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes or in one of their hospices across the UK.
£20 provides 1 hour of Marie Curie nursing care, but whatever you can give will help terminally ill people and their families when they need it most.
i will be doing this walk with Michael
My son Declan (13) is also doing the walk to help raise money in memory of his wonderful granny.
We are also doing the walk for
Patricia Forrester, My Lovey Friend
Also for all the amazing people who have lost their lives to this horrible disease and for all the people out there who are still fighting it
The walk is also my mum's birthday, which to me makes it even more special, it really is a charity close to our own hearts, which I'm sure it is for many so please sponsor us whatever you can as ever Penny counts, I honestly believe Marie Curie make a difference
Thank You xx xx xx xx
