Story
My Father, Brian Watson, sadly passed away on 22.12.2019. Finding the right words to describe how much he will be missed by me, his partner Cathy and his friends... is difficult.
My dad is my superhero who showed me how to be kind, how to give the best hugs, how to love and that music is an essential part of life.
Weaving music into everything he could and never going anywhere without his guitar if he could help it, my dad was a talented guitarist, singer and songwriter. If he didn't have his guitar with him he was likely to find another opportunity to make music wherever he was.
We have chosen Dads Rock as the charity to receive donations in Brian's name, firstly, because had the charity been around when he proudly became a dad he would have certainly benefited and secondly because the music workshops offered by the charity would be something my dad would have loved to support.
The Dads Rock Academy offers weekly music tuition for Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, and Vocals. Each lesson lasts for 2 hours and it costs £40 per month for each student.
Larger than life with a heart too big for this world my dad would have loved to know that children were getting to experience the absolute joy of making music and other dads were being supported to do the most important job in the world in his name.
Dads rock but I think my dad rocked the most.
Lots of love Kira
