Brian Pilkington is cycling to Cyprus.... Kicks off 1st thing Sunday morning after you know ... the other event..You know the Royal one. (Saturday 30/4/11) Micheal and Micheal my lovely colleagues at the Edward Rayne here in Raynes Park are escorting me to Newhaven.. They want to make sure I get on that Ferry to Dieppe.

WHY ?.. I want to celebrate my 65th birthday unconventionally. For the most part I did enjoy my 15 years in the Royal Air Force,. and can relate easily to this specific charity - Help for Heroes.. .

And so with your help, I`d like to raise as much cash as possible.

The Route?.. London to Newhaven, Then Newhaven to Dieppe, by Ferry, then Marseille to Genoa, to Trieste, Slovenia to Dubrovnik, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, Bulgaria into Turkey and Istanbul onwards to the South coast and the Ferry across to Kyrenia Northern Cyprus.. will always take the more scenic route.. so am allowing a little flexibility..  Some might sense that `flexibility` translates as `lost`. Nah! I call it exploring!

Accommodation? .. Camping out, I will be carrying everything, bar edibles, I`ll buy them on the way.. My aim is to be one of pedalling, cooking, eating and sleeping.. Oh and enjoying the view .. 

Duration 6-8 weeks ??.. There will bound to be problems, of course there will, and I`ll encounter them on route. Will post Blogs hopefully on a daily basis as and when I can .. WifI allowing. You can then share in my spills and thrills - Unexpurgated.. Oh Really!
