Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m raising money for the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team by running the Great North Run 2016 and in memory of Kyle Knox (pictured above), eldest son to our friends John and Claudette. They have provided a bit of info about this tragedy and some background about Kyle.
“Kyle Sean Knox set off on his final solo venture where his fateful journey saw him caught in a snow storm on the mountain of Ben Nevis - it was March 30th 2015 and Kyle was celebrating his 23rd birthday! The volunteers of the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team ventured into severe weather conditions but it was 2 weeks before his body was found and brought home to help bring closure for his family/friends. Kyle was a young man without fear who was at his happiest helping others. This included supporting charities such as MIND, Children in Need and Shelter for the homeless. Kyle will forever be remembered for the positive legacy he left behind, his generous nature, his selflessness but more importantly his belief that everyone should have someone who cares and nothing was too much trouble. To his family he was one in a million and to others a young man who had a maturity beyond his years.''
To everyone - in itself, this is a truly heart-breaking story but I want to use this opportunity to applaud the dedicated and selfless courage of the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team who also gave tremendous support to John, Claudette and their youngest son, Aidan, through this very dark time.
There is a substantial reliance on public donations to help maintain this service. Please give generously and I will salute you all as I pass every mile marker in this run!!
